(the) Sound translates the symbol

(the) Choir (without a voice)

(the) Orchestra looks up

(the) Rhythm (visual)

(the) Echo meets the object

The prerequisites of an action in which the sound and the image condition each other's ability to be used by the public lead to a fierce negotiation with the unexpected. The natural need for control and safety takes the form of instructions which correlate in a purely conventional way, elements from different types of expression. Optical stimuli receive sonic correspondence. Visual orchestration translates into a soundscape. The score is a visual show, a discrete and minimalist choreography of graphic signs.

Lera Kelemen often operates with setting the framework and operational rules for her projects, leaving enough details unspecified as to allow "the game" to unfold. It all starts with her interest in defining a certain space in a determined time, while at the core of this approach lies a psychological exploration. Her space and time become real only when they face the human presence, not just physical presence, but also a mental one. The experimental dimension of such a project lies in the testing of reactions and acceptance of the incidental.
