Migrants from Venezuela, Nicoló Filippo Rosso

21.03.2019

"At the border with Colombia, a continuous flow of migrants from Venezuela crosses the line every day. Some enter at international bridges, while others avoid passport controls by using contraband smugglers' routes. Nearly 1 million already live in Colombia, while many others seek a better life and undertake a long journey, often walking for months to Peru, Brazil and Chile. This is one of the largest migration's flows in Latin America's history." (Nicoló Filippo Rosso)

Nicoló Filippo Rosso (b.1985) is an independent documentary photographer based in Bogotá, Colombia. He documented the life of indigenous people in Colombia, the social and health ailments caused by corporate greed, the medicinal workers from Putumayo who employ ancient healing practices, the effects that companies have on the Wayuu community, the daily life of the LGBTI community in Bogotá.

At present, he is working at the border with Venezuela documenting the migration crisis. He will present this ongoing project pointing on his method of choosing the photos for the final selection.

His work has been published in National Geographic, Vice, Washington Post, AlJazeera, Wall Street Journal, Internazionale, Pèlerin, Der Spiegel, Discover, Chicago Tribune, Miami Herald, Huffington Post, Cañamo.
